Event Overview
The Ainslie Amble is Race 4 of the Sri Chinmoy Canberra Trail Series, held on Sunday 28 June 2026 in Hackett (Canberra), ACT. The event offers three run options of 2km, 8.3km and 16.4km, all starting from 10am. Start and finish are alongside the corner of Kellaway St and Phillip Ave, with bathrooms available at Hackett Oval about 100 metres away. Dogs are not permitted on the course.
What the Course Demands
This round circles the base of Mt Ainslie and extends onto Mt Majura, with the longer course adding a full Mt Ainslie loop and a steep climb described by organisers as a “gut-busting ascent.” The 8.3km route uses the Mt Majura saddle area and includes sustained up-and-down running with frequent turns and intersections. Expect pace changes as gradients shift and as the course moves between management trails and narrower tracks.
Who This Event Suits Best
The 2km is suited to newer runners and those wanting a short, controlled effort in a race setting. The 8.3km option suits runners comfortable with continuous climbing and descending and who can manage changing rhythm over a longer loop. The 16.4km is best for experienced trail runners looking for a more demanding outing that rewards efficient uphill running and steady pacing over multiple climbs.
