Event Overview
The City of Joondalup Mullaloo Triathlon is scheduled for Sunday 29 March 2026, based at Tom Simpson Park on Mullaloo Beach in Perth’s northern beaches. The event offers multiple race options across swim-bike-run formats, plus aquabike, a short duathlon, and a 1500m open-water swim. Distances range from the Bolt (250m/10km/2km) through to Standard (1.5km/40km/10km), with individual and relay team categories available.
What the Course Demands
Course logistics are lap-based across all formats, with clear counting required in the water and on the bike. The Standard and Aquabike swims use two 750m laps with an exit and timing mat crossing between laps. Bike legs use multiple laps and include roundabouts, speed bumps near the precinct, and designated no-passing areas, so positioning and restraint matter. Runs are out-and-back loops, with the Standard completing two 5km laps.
Who This Event Suits Best
This event suits athletes who prefer structured, repeatable loops and want straightforward pacing across short to Standard-distance racing. The Bolt and Sprint options fit first-timers and juniors building race skills, while the Standard distance (including relay teams) suits competitors comfortable managing multiple laps and transitions. The Aquabike option provides a swim-bike focus, and the short duathlon offers an alternative for athletes not completing the swim leg.
