Event Overview
Sydney East Swimrun is held on Saturday, 18 April 2026, starting and finishing at the event hub at Woollahra Sailing Club in Rose Bay, Sydney. The event offers four formats: Enduro 17km (2km swim / 15km run), Experience 11km (1.3km swim / 9.7km run), Discovery 6km (750m swim / 5.25km run), and the Stroke ’N Stride aquathlon at 2.4km (600m swim / 1.8km run). The 2026 Australian Swimrun Championship is contested by teams in the Enduro distance.
What the Course Demands
Sydney East is built around frequent transitions, with short harbour swims (up to 300m) linking longer running segments. The Enduro includes 27 sections and around 200m of elevation, while Experience and Discovery are lower-elevation (listed at 50m). Athletes need to manage pace changes across varied terrain and repeated entries/exits, including some more technical moments such as rock platform access noted in the course notes. The final course is confirmed on event morning and section distances are approximate.
Who This Event Suits Best
This event suits athletes who want a structured introduction to swimrun mechanics, as well as experienced pairs targeting the Enduro championship format. Stroke ’N Stride and Discovery are appropriate for newer participants who prefer shorter total distance with compact swim legs. Experience provides a step-up with more continuous running while keeping swims short. Enduro best matches athletes comfortable with sustained effort across many sections and coordinated pacing in a team.
