Event Overview
Peoplecare Triathlon Wollongong is held in Wollongong, New South Wales, on 19 April 2026, based around Wollongong Harbour and Lang Park. The program includes Standard, Sprint, Super Sprint and a Try A Tri option, plus a Standard-distance Aquabike. Standard and Aquabike use a 2-lap swim in Belmore Basin and a 4-lap bike leg that heads along Cliff Road with a turnaround at Towradgi Road. Younger athletes can take part in the TriKidz Aquathon.
What the Course Demands
Across the main races, the swim is set in the sheltered waters of Belmore Basin/Wollongong Harbour with multi-lap formats depending on distance. The bike courses use repeated laps leaving transition and riding along Cliff Road to a turnaround at Towradgi Road, so athletes need to manage pacing and concentration through multiple passes of the same sections. Run legs are lap-based and follow Marine Drive and the Lang Park area, with turns and out-and-back segments that reward steady execution.
Who This Event Suits Best
This event suits athletes who prefer a structured, lap-based race environment with clear turnarounds and repeated course sections. Super Sprint and Try A Tri cater to first-time triathletes with shorter swim, bike and run distances, while Sprint offers a step up with a one-lap swim and longer bike and run. Standard and Standard Aquabike suit athletes comfortable sustaining effort across longer swim and bike legs and managing multiple laps.
