Frequently Asked Questions
Do I have to commit long term?
No. You can stay with us for as long as the coaching is useful and pause or cancel whenever you need to. We keep it flexible so your triathlon coaching in Canada fits around work, family, seasons, and your race calendar.
How do I receive my plan?
Your training plan is delivered through TrainingPeaks, so you can view sessions on your phone, tablet, or computer. It syncs with the GPS watches and bike computers commonly used by triathletes across Canada.
What gear do I need?
We build your program around what you already have. You can train with heart rate, power, GPS, or simple perceived effort (RPE). Each session is designed to stay practical and effective in real Canadian conditions, from indoor winter training to outdoor summer rides.
Can I follow the plan if I am travelling?
Yes. Many Canadian athletes travel for work, holidays, or races in the United States and other countries. Your plan can be followed anywhere, and we adjust sessions to match the pools, gyms, roads, or training facilities available while you are away.
Is it suitable for beginners and experienced athletes?
Yes. We coach first time triathletes preparing for local sprint or Olympic distance races as well as experienced athletes targeting 70.3 and full Ironman events such as Mont Tremblant or Muskoka. Your program reflects your current fitness, background, and goals.
What coach support will I get?
You have direct access to your triathlon coach for questions, feedback, and plan changes. Whether you need advice before a key session, want a weekly review, or need to adjust training after a busy week, we are here to support you.
How many hours per week do I need to train?
That depends on your goals, experience, and target distance. We work with athletes who can train only a few hours each week as well as those preparing for long course events. Your plan is built around the time you realistically have available.
Do I need access to a pool or open water?
Regular swim access helps, but it is not required to start. If pool time is limited, we can include land based strength and mobility work, then adjust your plan as access improves. When Canadian lakes and open water spots are usable in warmer months, we build that in too.
Can you coach me if I live outside a major city?
Yes. We coach athletes from all over Canada, including smaller towns and remote areas. Because coaching is delivered online, your location is never a problem. We design your training around the roads, trails, pools, and facilities you have nearby.
Can I focus on just one discipline, like cycling or running?
Yes. Some athletes choose to spend part of the year focusing on a single sport, such as building cycling strength or improving running durability. We can design focused blocks for one discipline and then move back to full triathlon training when you are ready.
