Event Overview
Glasshouse Standing is a backyard ultra staged at the base of Wild Horse Mountain in the Glasshouse Mountains on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland. The event is scheduled for 31 December 2026 with a 5:00pm start. Athletes run a 6.7km loop that begins on the hour, repeating until only one runner completes a solo loop to be declared the Last One Standing. Entries are limited to 200, with a minimum age of 15.
What the Course Demands
The format rewards controlled pacing and reliable turnaround management: each loop must be finished within the hour and runners must be back in the starting corral before the next start or be disqualified. Leaving the course mid-loop is restricted aside from restroom use, and aid from others on the course is not permitted. Night loops require mandatory lighting, so preparation for extended running beyond daylight is relevant.
Who This Event Suits Best
This event suits runners who are comfortable with long-duration uncertainty and repeated loop execution rather than a fixed finishing time. It generally fits athletes who can manage consistent effort across many hours and follow strict event procedures around starts, equipment, and on-course support. Runners who prefer a standard point-to-point or set-distance race may find the backyard format less predictable.
