Event Overview
The Maribyrnong River Run is held on 13 September 2026 at Footscray Park in Footscray, Victoria. Organised by PB Events, the program offers three distances: 21.1km, 10km and 5km (run/walk). Race bibs can be posted in advance or collected on race morning, with on-the-day entries available (card only). Finishers receive a medal and an online personalised finisher certificate, and results are provided for each event.
What the Course Demands
All races start and finish from Footscray Park and follow the Maribyrnong River corridor, so the key demands are steady pacing and rhythm over long, uninterrupted sections. The 21.1km requires sustained concentration as the field spreads out, while the 10km and 5km are more about controlled early speed and maintaining form to the line. Drink stations are available on course at roughly 2.5–3km intervals.
Who This Event Suits Best
This event suits runners who want a measured, well-supported race in Melbourne’s inner west, with options ranging from a 5km run/walk through to a half marathon. The 5km can work for families and newer runners, while the 10km is a practical benchmark distance. The half marathon is best for athletes comfortable managing effort and focus across a longer out-and-back style route.
