Event Overview
The Grampians Peaks Trail 100 Miler (GPT100) is a running event staged in Gariwerd/Grampians National Park, Victoria, with Halls Gap used as the event village. The 2026 program runs from 5–8 November, anchored by a 162km end-to-end route from Mt Zero to Dunkeld. Athletes can choose a continuous 162km Miler (solo or pairs), a four-day 162km stage race, plus shorter options including 49.5km (GPT50k) and 33km (GPT33).
What the Course Demands
Across the long courses, the route is defined by sustained climbing and descending, with the Miler and stage race listed at roughly 7,700m of elevation gain. The course is broken into major sections with aid provided at road crossings and key hubs, and large stretches are remote. Technical footing is a recurring theme, and the later kilometres include repeated steep ascents over prominent southern peaks before the finish in Dunkeld.
Who This Event Suits Best
This event suits runners who are comfortable managing long, mountainous days and adapting pace to variable terrain and sustained elevation change. The 162km formats are best matched to experienced ultra-distance athletes seeking a point-to-point challenge with strict cut-offs. The 49.5km and 33km races suit runners wanting a shorter but still demanding course with major climbs, while the Dunkeld 2km and 5km options cater to juniors and families.
