Event Overview
Ultra-Trail Kosciuszko by UTMB returns to the Snowy Mountains, NSW, from 26–28 November 2026, with all races finishing at Friday Flat in Thredbo. The program includes the Kosci30 (32km) and Kosci50 (50km) on Thursday 26 November, plus the Kosci100 (102km) and KosciMiler (161km) on Friday 27 November. The event is delivered by USM Events Pty Ltd and sits within the UTMB World Series.
What the Course Demands
Across the four distances, the courses are designed around sustained elevation gain and long runnable segments, with bigger climbs concentrated in the longer events. Key features referenced by the organiser include travel through the Snowy Mountains, visits to alpine areas and ski villages, and (for Kosci100 and KosciMiler) an ascent to the summit of Mt Kosciuszko. Time limits are substantial, but require steady forward progress between checkpoints.
Who This Event Suits Best
This event suits runners who want an organised alpine ultra experience with multiple distance options and strong event infrastructure. Kosci30 is positioned as an entry point for newer trail runners, while Kosci50 suits athletes stepping up from marathon-length running. Kosci100 targets runners ready for a full-day-plus effort including a summit section, and KosciMiler suits experienced ultra runners managing a 36-hour race window.
