Event Overview
Tour of Margaret River (TOMR) is a three-stage team road racing event held across the South West of Western Australia from Friday 30 October to Sunday 1 November 2026. The program includes Stage 1 Grand Pursuit (52km) starting in Donnybrook, Stage 2 Road Race (91km) from Balingup through to Greenbushes, and Stage 3 Grand Pursuit (62km) based at the Margaret River Chocolate Company. Racing uses timed segments to determine individual and team results.
Event details are based on the 2025 edition and may be subject to change for 2026.
What the Course Demands
Across the weekend, performance is driven by repeated high-output segments rather than steady pacing alone. Stage 1 includes a sustained KOM/QOM climb and a longer sprint-style segment, while Stage 2 is a continuous GC effort with key climbs including Brockman Wall and a later KOM/QOM section. Stage 3 combines an early sprint-style segment, a mid-stage KOM/QOM, and a final GC segment before a controlled run-in to the finish area.
Who This Event Suits Best
This event suits riders who are comfortable working within a team structure and executing decisive efforts across multiple stages. It generally favours athletes with the ability to handle climbs and then back up hard riding on subsequent days. Riders who race well in organised divisions and can contribute to scoring across GC, KOM/QOM and sprint-style segments are likely to get the most from the format.
