Who is this Sub 9 Hour Ironman Training Plan for?

This program is specifically developed for advanced and elite-level triathletes with prior Ironman experience who are aiming to break the 9-hour barrier. It is intended for athletes with a strong aerobic foundation, efficient biomechanics, and access to power meters and GPS-enabled tracking devices.

How long does the plan run for?

The plan duration ranges from 20 to 30 weeks and includes periodized training phases—base, build, peak, and taper—structured to ensure optimal race-day readiness while managing fatigue and adaptation cycles.

How many hours per week will I need?

Weekly training volume typically ranges between 14 and 22 hours, with progressive overload principles applied. Volume and intensity are adjusted based on lactate threshold testing, performance metrics, and athlete availability.

What kind of workouts are included?

The plan incorporates discipline-specific sessions such as aerobic endurance rides, threshold swims, brick workouts, VO2 max intervals, and long runs with pace modulation. All workouts are based on training zones derived from Functional Threshold Power (FTP), heart rate, or critical swim speed (CSS) testing.

Is the training plan delivered online?

Yes. The training plan is delivered via TrainingPeaks and includes structured workout files compatible with Garmin, Wahoo, Zwift, and other major training platforms. Athletes receive weekly metrics and progress tracking within the app.

How soon will I get access to the plan?

After purchase, access is granted within 24 hours, following an initial review of your athlete profile, recent race history, and performance benchmarks.

Is a consultation included?

Yes. A 90-minute consultation is provided via phone or email to evaluate your training history, define A/B/C race priorities, and align the plan with your physiological data and race schedule.

Is this a one-time payment?

Yes. The Sub 9 Hour Ironman Training Plan is a single payment of $399 AUD, with no recurring fees. Additional consultations or adjustments can be arranged separately if needed.

Can I train using heart rate or power zones?

Yes. This plan is fully compatible with both heart rate zone training and power-based metrics. For cycling, sessions are structured around Functional Threshold Power (FTP) and specific power zones. For running, training is guided by lactate threshold heart rate or power (if using devices like Stryd). Each workout includes target zones to ensure optimal training stimulus and physiological adaptation.
